Vitali, Giovanni Battista: Sonatas

Giovanni Battista Vitali (1644-1692) composed these three pieces in Bologna. Their titles reflect the family names of senators in that city, and were written for instruments of the violin family, with a basso seguente part for organ, which is optional in modern performances. This edition for viols (ttTB/ttTTB) is by George Houle. Inhalt: Sonata "La Saffatelli" a4 (No. 10), Capriccio "Il Molza" a4 (No. 11), Sonata La Scalabrina" a5 (No. 12).
