Soderino, Agostino: L´Angelina

This piece is taken from Agostirio Soderino´s Canzoni a 4 e 8 voci, libro primo, Published in Milan in 1608. There is little information on Soderino (or Soderini, ,as he was also known). However, in 1608 he was organist at St. Maria della Rosa in Milan, and he belonged to a circle of musicians who gave performances at the palace of Luca Francesco Brivio; the dedication of his collection suggests that the pieces had been played there. Each one of his pieces is dedicated to a different Milanese family, so presumably there must have been a family called Angelino or Angelini.
Im this edition the original note values have been retained throughout; the time-signature at bar 62 is a simple 3. One of two editorial accidentals have been added: they appear in the usual way above the stave, applying to the one note only.
