This further selection from the secular works of Guillaume Dufay (c.1400-1474) includes works mostly from the beginning of his career. Generally speaking, his ballades were early works - three are even dated in one source, including C'est bien raisom printed here (1433). During Dufay´s lifetime the ballade largely went out of fashion: by his death the rondeau completely dominated secular music, apart from a few virelais.
In this edition, the original note values have been halved throughout. Editorial accidentals are shown in the usual way, printed small above the stave: they apply to the one note only.
