Coprario, Giovanni: The 5-Part Consort Music

This is the last of three volumes devoted to an edition of the parts of John Coprario´s five-part pieces, and so fills a longstanding need on the part of performers. The entire collection of Coprario´s five-part pieces (all of which are available, except for the alternative versions of piece numbers 17, 18, 42 and 43) was published in score in Richard Charteris, ed., John Coprario, The Five-Part Pieces, no. 92 in the series Corpus Mensurabilis Musicae (American Institute of Musicology, 1981). The score includes an introduction to these pieces, besides biographical notes, list of sources (and their abbreviations) and critical commentary. The music in the score is consistent with the parts.
